What is Term Life Insurance?

Term Life Insurance is temporary life insurance designed to cover you for a period of time. It is much less expensive than traditional Life Insurance. If you already have an investment/retirement plan in place, term life insurance will give you peace of mind knowing your family is protected while your net worth grows. Then, once your net worth is where you want it, or when the kids are grown, or when the mortgage is paid off, or when you simply don’t need life insurance because you are self-insured, then you no longer need life insurance. Term Life Insurance is typically offered as a set rate for 10, 20, or 30 years. The longer you want coverage locked in for, the higher the rate will be because your age and health are the primary factors. Term Life Insurance does not accumulate a cash value; instead, you can invest your money where you want it to be, rather than being tied to a life insurance policy.

Andrew likes Legal & General America for term life insurance. They are an A+ rated carrier, been around for nearly 70 years, have competitive rates, and have high online approvals without a medical exam. In some cases, a medical exam may still be required.

What is Whole Life Insurance?

Whole Life Insurance is a permanent Life Insurance policy that is designed to be lifelong. As long as premiums are paid, when you die, the death benefit is paid to your beneficiary. Whole Life Insurance includes a cash value that grows tax-deferred which you may be able to borrow against or withdraw from.

Andrew likes National Life Group for Whole Life Insurance. They are an A+ rated carrier from A.M. Best and been around since 1848 (over 175 years old). A medical exam is typically required.

What is Guaranteed Final Expense Life Insurance?

Guaranteed Life Insurance is designed for people who do not qualify for traditional life insurance. This is typically due to having health issues in the past, or a current diagnosis of a terminal illness. No exam is needed, and you are guaranteed coverage if you meet certain qualifications such as age, citizenship, and state of residence. During the first two years the policy is active, the death benefit would typically be a return of your premium. After the two years, the death benefit would be the amount you signed up for. This is a last resort Life Insurance for those who do not have the financial savings needed to cover their final expenses and have been denied by other carriers.

Andrew likes Gerber Life for Guaranteed Final Expense Life Insurance. They are an A+ rated carrier from A.M. Best and been around since 1967. A medical exam is not required.

What is Accumulation Life Insurance?

Accumulation Life Insurance is Life Insurance that is designed to pay you an income during your retirement years. Some people think that a 401k is their only option to save for retirement. With 401ks you put pre-tax dollars in, then you pay tax on the dollars you take out during retirement. With an Accumulation life Insurance policy, you pay the policy with taxed dollars, and then the cash value of the policy grows tax free. When you retire, you take loans off of the policy’s cash value, and then when you die the policy pays off the loans and provides the remaining value to your beneficiary. This type of policy is generally the most expensive type of life insurance as it acts as an investment vehicle that grows cash value. Cash value is not guaranteed; there is risk involved.

Andrew likes National Life Group for Accumulation Life Insurance. They are an A+ rated carrier from A.M. Best and been around since 1848 (over 175 years old). A medical exam is typically required.
